Community Support and Wellbeing
August 2023 - in partnership with Storyhouse, thanks to their generous funding we took a group of participants to Theatre in the Park to see Midsummer's Night Dream. It was beautiful weather and a fantastic outing!
We also attended the networking event "Empowering Our Communities" organised by Cheshire West Voluntary Action. A wonderful opportunity to showcase the creative work of our groups, and meet organisations working within communities.
July 2023 - provided a taster of Creative Journalling to Tomorrow's Women Chester.
April 2023 - awarded High Sheriff's funding through Cheshire Community Funding for "Stronger Together Sharing Words", a programme of craft and creative journalling workshops at Dial House, Chester.
2022-23, we delivered community workshops at The Old Chapel community centre in Saltney Ferry, funded by National Lottery Wales. Promoting confidence through creativity and community values.
2021 - awarded funding as part of Let's Turn This Around Covid-19 community support programme. We delivered "Spring Into Wellbeing", a nature-based programme full of inspiring activities like haiku writing, journalling, motivational coaching, and Mindfulness.
Our services are also listed on the Council's Live Well directory.
Delivering Staff and Community Training
We deilivered staff training to Dial West Cheshire in the form of Active Listening skills and accredited Mental Health First Aid Training.
Lisa has completed a research project into the Impact of Covid-19 on Creative Writing for Wellbeing provision, for Lapidus International in partnership with University of Chester. An interesting part of the research was identifying the impact on areas with deprivation and health inequalities and how organisations have adapted their provision to meet needs.

Testimonials
Words for Wellbeing Participants
I’ve enjoyed the exploration of how to see things in a different light.
Realised that I can write interesting pieces that make me feel several emotions and knowing I can continue to write to improve my wellbeing.
I’ve really liked thinking in a creative way which is a change to my natural character.
I am proud of my effort.
Recent feedback on our online two-day Mental Health First Aid Course
The instructor was excellent - very knowledgeable on MHFA
It was my first online training course so took some time to get used to, but Sally did well keeping everyone involved. I'd be happy to recommend the course to the rest of my staff as we work alongside volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
The course was excellent. The mental health information and workbook is very well put together.
Very useful - great refresher for me and I learnt valuable new ways of thinking and supporting people.
